Notre Dame High School Class of 2025 Celebrates Graduation and Academic Excellence

Church Point, LA — Notre Dame High School honored the Class of 2025 with a graduation Mass and commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 16, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point. The day began with a solemn Graduation Mass at 9:00 a.m., followed by Baccalaureate ceremonies, where 72 graduates received diplomas and were recognized for outstanding academic achievements and character.

Valedictorians and Top Academic Honors
Four students earned the distinction of Valedictorian, recognized Summa Cum Laude for completing the full Honors Curriculum with a perfect 4.0 GPA. These top graduates, identified by gold-trimmed stoles, include:

  • Ava Claire Arceneaux, daughter of Tim and Allison Arceneaux
  • Aiden Michael Leonards, son of Barrett and Lainey Leonards
  • Audrey Katherine Mahaffey, daughter of John and Mariette Mahaffey
  • Marie Angele Thibodeaux, daughter of Chris and Staci Thibodeaux

Graduation Honors Designations

Magna Cum Laude (3.70–4.00 GPA with at least 12 honors classes – white stole):
Kate Andrus, Evan Dauphine, Nicholas Fogleman, Mary Elizabeth Gattle, Chloé Guidry, Riley Hoffpauir, Lillian LaPoint, Catherine LeLeux, Alexandra Meche, Henri Pommier, and Lainey Stanford.

Cum Laude (3.70–4.00 GPA with fewer than 12 honors classes – blue stole):
Theresa Burleigh, Ellen Domingue, and Ava Lemaire.

Scholar Honors (3.5–3.699 GPA in college-bound or honors curriculum – gray stole):
Amaya Bellard, Leyton Faul, Parker Faust, Rebecca Frey, Annalise Maloz, Matthew Mixon, William Prevost, and Riley Shuff.

Special Awards
During the commencement ceremony, Notre Dame High School presented its most prestigious honors:

  • Catholic Action Award – Presented to Mary Elizabeth Gattle and Joshua G. Hebert for exemplifying outstanding faith, leadership, and service to the school and community.
  • American Legion Award – Awarded to Ava Claire Arceneaux and Joshua G. Hebert in recognition of their exceptional character, courage, citizenship, and leadership.
