Launched during the 2025–26 school year, Pioneer Robotics is creating new opportunities for students to explore STEM, develop real-world skills, and discover what they can accomplish as a team.
After an incredible rookie season, Pioneer Robotics is entering its next year of competition with a strong foundation and big goals—including the dream of competing at the FIRST® World Festival.
Success in robotics takes more than technical skill. It takes creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, communication, and a willingness to learn. As the team grows, members are committed to building a diverse team of students who can learn from one another, mentor future members, and help establish a lasting robotics program at Notre Dame.
A Strong Start
In its very first season, Pioneer Robotics accomplished more than the team could have imagined:
- Competed at FIRST Tech Challenge regional and state events
- Earned the Innovate Award at the LAFTC Hammond Qualifier
- Earned the Control Award at the 2026 Baton Rouge FTC Qualifier
- Received the Reach Award at the 2026 FTC State Competition
- Participated in four community outreach events
- Built relationships with local professionals and industry partners
These accomplishments are just the beginning. Each competition, partnership, and outreach opportunity is helping students grow as innovators, leaders, and teammates.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
Professional partnerships give Pioneer Robotics students the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals, learn about STEM careers, and apply classroom concepts to real-world challenges.
The team is grateful to Blueline Manufacturing, Stella Maris, and Techneaux Services for investing in our students and embracing the learning experience alongside Pioneer Robotics.
Connecting with Our Community
Outreach is an important part of the Pioneer Robotics experience. During the 2025–26 season, team members shared their passion for STEM at Notre Dame student and parent open house events, participated in the Holiday Fair at feeder school St. Michael Elementary, and volunteered at the FLL Regional Qualifier by assisting at the practice table and demonstrating their robot. The team also hosted its first annual Pioneer Robotics Camp, introducing students in 4th through 8th grade to the excitement of robotics, engineering, and problem-solving.
Through these experiences, Pioneer Robotics is helping younger students see themselves as future scientists, engineers, programmers, and innovators.

Pioneer Robotics is more than a competition team. It is an opportunity for students to build something new at Notre Dame—a program grounded in teamwork, innovation, service, and the pursuit of excellence.
As the team continues to compete, learn, and grow, Pioneer Robotics is preparing today's students to become tomorrow's problem-solvers and leaders.
